About Us

We've Arrived! Coming to a Theatre near you....

We've Arrived! Coming to a Theatre near you....

We've Arrived! Coming to a Theatre near you....

We at Re-Staging believe that there is an alternative to dumping Theatre Sets at the end of their performance days.

We believe that they deserve a second chance to see the bright lights. So we are giving them that chance.

We primarily are a Set building company and offer a full range of Theatrical and Corporate Sets, built to your specifications and design.  But here's the difference...

After you've finished with it, we can take it back to our workshop and strip it down to re-usable parts. These parts are then available to be used as part of another Set or for local community projects. They get their second, third, fourth chance in the limelight. And you get to reduce your waste, your reliance on new materials, and your carbon footprint. It's a win-win.

We're pushing forward the green movement in the world of Theatre and The Arts in Ireland.

Are you?

Who we are

We've Arrived! Coming to a Theatre near you....

We've Arrived! Coming to a Theatre near you....

Stephen Bourke has been involved in Theatre and Events for the past 30 years in Dublin, in the UK and on many local and international tours.

Having been a performer, stage crew, stage manager, production manager, audio visual technician, lighting and sound technician and set builder, Stephen realised the impact Theatre and Events were having on the environment.

He was aghast and disheartened every time he saw a Set end up in a skip or that was rotting in a storage facility so he came up with the plan to try to eradicate such waste within the industry through the sharing of knowledge and introducing sustainability.

The benefits of this are that the carbon footprint of the company is reduced, by means of the reduction of waste, and also the reduction of virgin material in the construction of the set.

Stephen's wife and business partner Nicky Bourke, has also been involved in Theatre for over 30 years. She's been a Musical Theatre performer, stage actress and has also worked on Stage Door, as Backstage Crew, as a Dresser amongst other things.

The Book of Names

ANU and Landmark Productions with Dublin Port

Written and directed by Louise Lowe Designed by Owen Boss

Set constructed by Stephen Bourke

https://bookofnames.ie/#

The Production took over The Pumphouse at Dublin Port and Designer Owen Boss created a series of spaces transforming the disused Pumphouse into a 1920's canteen with kitchen, a garage and an office. There were several secret spaces within these rooms. Stephen Bourke was Production Manager but also took on the role of Set Construction and built the entire set along with a few helping hands. Check out the Book of Names website (link above) for more pictures.

The result was a spectacular Set transforming The Pumphouse back to the 1920's and the events leading up to the Civil War in Ireland.

Please visit our Gallery to see other work Stephen has constructed.
